Green project bonds worth USD100bn in world market
Director of the Research Department at the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI) Ola El-Khawaga, stressed the importance of supporting the state to invest in green projects, given the recent high rate of growth.
El Khawaga said at a seminar on financing green projects held by the EBI on Wednesday that the volume of bonds offered to finance green projects worldwide increased from only USD 4bn in 2010 to more than USD 100bn by the end of 2016.
Other speakers at the seminar included Huda Sabri, a financial and banking expert, and Abdel Aziz Naseer, executive director of the EBI.
