Desk­tops dom­i­nate Egypt’s per­sonal com­put­ing de­vices mar­ket in Fe­bru­ary

Desk­tops’ share of the per­sonal com­put­ing de­vices mar­ket in Egypt in­creased to 55% in Fe­bru­ary from 54.5% in Jan­uary. The statis­tics come from web an­a­lyt­ics com­pany StatCounter, which pointed out that desk­tops sur­passed mo­bile phones and tablets’ mar­ket share.

Ac­cord­ing to StatCounter, mo­bile phones ac­counted for 42.2% of per­sonal com­put­ing de­vice sales in Fe­bru­ary, com­pared to 42.8% in Jan­uary.

Mean­while, tablet sales ranked third with a mar­ket share of 2.9% in Fe­bru­ary com­pared to 2.7% in Jan­uary.

Sam­sung has con­tin­ued to out­per­form its com­peti­tors in Egypt’s mo­bile mar­ket de­spite a 1.5% de­cline in its mar­ket share in Fe­bru­ary. Ac­cord­ing to the StatCounter re­port, Sam­sung›s mar­ket share fell to 39% of mo­bile phone sales from 40.5% in Jan­uary 2018.

Huawei con­tin­ued in sec­ond place in terms of mo­bile phone mar­ket share with a 14.1% share in Fe­bru­ary com­pared to 13.9% in Jan­uary 2018, achiev­ing slight growth in its mar­ket share.

Ap­ple, mean­while, achieved sig­nif­i­cant growth in its mar­ket share in Fe­bru­ary: 3.4%, as the mar­ket share of mo­bile sales in Egypt rose from 10.3% in Jan­uary to record 13.7% in Fe­bru­ary.

Len­ovo took fourth place in terms of mo­bile phone sales in Egypt in Fe­bru­ary, although its mar­ket share fell from 8.3% in Jan­uary to 7.4% in Fe­bru­ary.

In­finix ranked fifth, de­spite its mar­ket share de­clin­ing slightly in Fe­bru­ary reach­ing 4.9% ver­sus 5.1% in Jan­uary 2018.

Ac­cord­ing to the re­port, HTC reached a 3.3% share of the mo­bile phone mar­ket in Egypt in Fe­bru­ary com­pared to 3.1% in Jan­uary, rank­ing sixth.

The mo­bile phone mar­ket share in Egypt of Tecno reached 2.2% in Fe­bru­ary com­pared to 2.3% in Jan­uary 2018.

Nokia came last in terms of mo­bile mar­ket share in Egypt, with a mar­ket share of 1.7% in Fe­bru­ary com­pared to 2.1% in Jan­uary 2018.
