More naturally grown food has been sent as rations to Koro Island and other affected areas, says Minister for Health and Medical Servicers Jone Usamate.

He said this after reports of malnutrition had been received from a number of affected areas especially from Koro Island in the Lomaiviti Group.

“Food rations distributed to these affected areas are mostly packed and tin foods and the Ministry of Health is trying its best to address this issue,” he said. However Minister Usamate said that he needs to look more into the issue as he is not fully aware of it. The Ministry has set up a station to look at the reported cases of malnutrition.
