Labasa Hospital medical equipment boost
Labasa Hospital Medical Superitendent Dr Jaoji Vulibeci recognised the vital link of public partnership to meet the needs of patients admitted in hospital.
He said this after receiving a donation of medical equipment last week from Hammond Aged Care in Australia. “No donation is small and this is a perfect example of public partnership, it is important for our medical staff to take care of these medical facilities,” Dr Jaoji said. “On behalf of the Government and the Ministry of Health, I would like to thank Hammond for recognising the needs of people who are admitted in hospitals.”
This was the first time the organisation has donated to the Labasa hospital. Hammond Aged Care representative Ravinesh Chand said they wanted to assist the ministry with their work. “We transported medical equipments from our organisation in Australia,” Mr Chand said. “The medical equipment will be given to the Wainikoro Health centre and health centre in Labasa and Labasa hospital as well.” Mr Chand said the organisation hoped to continue this kind of work in the future, with beds and clothes for affected areas. Meanwhile, Dr Jaoji said Labasa Hospital had been trying their best to upgrade the level of facilities.
