Prophet Mo­hammed’s holiday moved to De­cem­ber

Em­ploy­ment Min­is­ter Semi Koroilavesau yes­ter­day de­ferred the Prophet Mo­hammed pub­lic holiday to De­cem­ber 12. Mr Koroilavesau made the change and ad­vised all work­ers, em­ploy­ers and the general pub­lic that the pub­lic holiday for Prophet’s Mo­hammed’s Birth­day will NOT be cel­e­brated on Wed­nes­day, 30th March as ear­lier an­nounced on Gazette Num­ber 68. “The Min­is­ter hereby con­firms that the pub­lic holiday for Prophet Mo­hammed’s Birth­day will be cel­e­brated on Mon­day, 12th De­cem­ber 2016 as per amended Gazette No­tice No. 77,” said a min­is­te­rial press re­lease yes­ter­day.
