Seaqaqa man charged for alleged knifing
‘Victim was treated for injuries to his jaw and discharged’
ASeaqaqa man has been charged with one count of act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after he allegedly struck his friend with a cane knife. Waisea Navuco, 30, allegedly struck his 38-year-old friend on his jaw during a drinking party at Korolevu Settlement in Seaqaqa last Saturday morning. Divisional Police commander northern Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shri Bhawan Singh confirmed that the victim was taken to Seaqaqa Health Centre immediately after the incident. “He was treated and put under observation and then discharged from Seaqaqa Health Centre yesterday,” SSP Singh said. “The attacker will be appearing at the Labasa Magistrate Court.” Meanwhile, SSP Singh has urged members of the public to be cautious at drinking parties.
