Seaqaqa man charged for al­leged knif­ing

ASeaqaqa man has been charged with one count of act with in­tent to cause griev­ous bod­ily harm af­ter he al­legedly struck his friend with a cane knife. Waisea Navuco, 30, al­legedly struck his 38-year-old friend on his jaw dur­ing a drink­ing party at Korolevu Set­tle­ment in Seaqaqa last Satur­day morn­ing. Di­vi­sional Police com­man­der north­ern Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent of Police (SSP) Shri Bhawan Singh con­firmed that the vic­tim was taken to Seaqaqa Health Cen­tre im­me­di­ately af­ter the in­ci­dent. “He was treated and put un­der ob­ser­va­tion and then dis­charged from Seaqaqa Health Cen­tre yes­ter­day,” SSP Singh said. “The at­tacker will be ap­pear­ing at the Labasa Mag­is­trate Court.” Mean­while, SSP Singh has urged mem­bers of the pub­lic to be cau­tious at drink­ing par­ties.
