Cruise liner brings in 2714 passengers with largest number from Australia
More than 2700 tourists visited Lautoka City when cruise liner Celebrity Soltice docked at Lautoka Wharf yesterday. The tourists were from UK, US and NZ with the largest group of 2155 from Australia. Passenger Bob Mirsclausen, from Broken Hill, NSW, Australia said: “The experience of seeing strong Fijians providing the best of service to us tourists is a sign that Fiji will always be No. 1 when it comes to tourism.”
More than 2700 tourists visited Lautoka City yesterday after the cruise liner Celebrity Solstice docked at the Lautoka Wharf. The Oceania-class liner brought tourists from New Zealand, United Kingdom, the United States, Austria with 2155, the largest number, from Australia. Passenger Bob Mirsclausen and his wife Steph Mirsclausen from Broken Hill, New South Wales said after their visit to Lautoka they loved the services provided at the wharf and in the city.
“This is the first time I am visiting Fiji and this experience of seeing the strong Fijians providing the best of services to us tourists is a sign that Fiji will always be Number One when it comes to the tourism sector,” Mr Mirsclausen said. He said spending time with his wife this Easter weekend was a good experience. “Spending Easter weekend with my wife here in the Fiji Islands has been a great experience,” he said.
“The people are so nice here, it’s so quiet and peaceful and I hope people recover well soon.”
