Cruise liner brings in 2714 pas­sen­gers with largest num­ber from Aus­tralia

More than 2700 tourists vis­ited Lau­toka City when cruise liner Celebrity Soltice docked at Lau­toka Wharf yes­ter­day. The tourists were from UK, US and NZ with the largest group of 2155 from Aus­tralia. Pas­sen­ger Bob Mirsclausen, from Bro­ken Hill, NSW, Aus­tralia said: “The ex­pe­ri­ence of see­ing strong Fi­jians pro­vid­ing the best of ser­vice to us tourists is a sign that Fiji will al­ways be No. 1 when it comes to tourism.”

More than 2700 tourists vis­ited Lau­toka City yes­ter­day af­ter the cruise liner Celebrity Sol­stice docked at the Lau­toka Wharf. The Ocea­nia-class liner brought tourists from New Zealand, United King­dom, the United States, Aus­tria with 2155, the largest num­ber, from Aus­tralia. Pas­sen­ger Bob Mirsclausen and his wife Steph Mirsclausen from Bro­ken Hill, New South Wales said af­ter their visit to Lau­toka they loved the ser­vices pro­vided at the wharf and in the city.

“This is the first time I am vis­it­ing Fiji and this ex­pe­ri­ence of see­ing the strong Fi­jians pro­vid­ing the best of ser­vices to us tourists is a sign that Fiji will al­ways be Num­ber One when it comes to the tourism sec­tor,” Mr Mirsclausen said. He said spend­ing time with his wife this Easter week­end was a good ex­pe­ri­ence. “Spend­ing Easter week­end with my wife here in the Fiji Is­lands has been a great ex­pe­ri­ence,” he said.

“The peo­ple are so nice here, it’s so quiet and peace­ful and I hope peo­ple re­cover well soon.”

Their next cruise ship Celebrity Mil­le­nium is ex­pected to dock at Lau­toka Wharf on April 2. Edited by Manasa Kalouniv­iti
