The ‘cika’ question

Fiji Sun - - Comments -

Suva Why is the cika or conjunctivitis so prevalent in Suva that almost every fourth to fifth person in town is affected as noted by the red eyes or having to wear sunglasses? Is this a post Tropical Cyclone Winston effect or is it an indirect impact of climate change. Why is that this is mainly happening in Suva?

Lets just hope that it is gone by the time of the Coca Cola Games as all would want athletes in the best of shape. Whatever ones views, this rather an unusual occurrence of cika leaving behind more questions than answers?

Floyd Robinson,

It seems like it is one person missing every second day. Some have been found while some are still missing. Many of the missing persons have been females and the age group seems to be from 17 years to at least 25. We should be monitoring the whereabouts of our daughters and sisters. Whoever is responsible should be brought to justice to avoid such incidents from happening in the future. My advice to all who are thinking of getting lost in whichever way, your family will be devastated and have a hard time trying to get you back home safely.
