Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has warned members of Cabinet not to bring politics into Government’s rebuilding programme. He said he had told members of cabinet that the rebuilding had to be prioritised. He said if any politician visited their village he or she should bring something to help them. Mr Bainimarama said in his last visit to the village he saw Social Democratic Liberal Party parliamentarian Josefa Dulaki standing on the village ground. The village spokesman Mr Aisea Cama said Mr Dulaki had visited a few SODELPA members in the village and had not returned to see them again. Mr Bainimarama said those politicians would be going around just to criticise the good work the Government was doing He said for Government, politics was put aside and had concentrated on seeing that all the cyclone affected people received help and whatever they wanted. The Prime Minister brushed aside claims by a political party that cyclone help was concentrated to some people. He said elections would be in 2018 and it was still a long way to go. “My Government will concentrate on its rebuilding programme as this was very important for the affected people,” he said.
