Amer­i­can Samoa hospital looks to re­duce staff costs

Pago Pago: The chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer of the LBJ Hospital in Amer­i­can Samoa is look­ing at re­duc­ing per­son­nel costs for the hospital, which ac­counts for more than 50 per cent of LBJ’s an­nual bud­get to about 28 or 29 per cent. Taufe­tee John Fau­muina Ju­nior said when he re­turned to LBJ as CEO, he was not im­pressed with a fed­eral pay scale the hospital was us­ing, adding if there’s no fed­eral money to cover the pay scale it should not be used.
