Ship­ping ser­vices re­turn to nor­mal

Labasa: Pat­ter­son Ship­ping will re­sume nor­mal ship­ping ser­vices to­day while Bligh Wa­ter Ship­ping had con­tin­ued to pro­vide ser­vice be­fore and af­ter Trop­i­cal Cy­clone Zena. The Com­mis­sioner North­ern, Jovesa Vo­cea, said Bligh Wa­ter Ship­ping ves­sel Wester­land was op­er­at­ing from Savusavu Jetty as nor­mal.

“The safety of pas­sen­gers is the DISMAC’s main con­cern and many of them do not want to take the risk of trav­el­ling by boat dur­ing this bad weather con­di­tion,” Mr Vo­cea said. “The ship­ping com­pa­nies are con­tin­u­ing to mon­i­tor the weather sit­u­a­tion for the safety of their pas­sen­gers.”
