Fiji Football Association is saddened to learn of the sudden death of former National and Nadi rep Akariva Rusima. Rusima died on Tuesday April 5, 2016 and will be buried tomorrow at 11am. Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel said Akariva would be missed by the football family in Fiji and abroad. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family who will have to go through this difficult phase,” Patel said.

“We have lost a great man today. “One who had football in his heart. “He immensely contributed towards the development of football in Fiji and leaves behind a legacy which many of us would only dream of fulfilling.

“Akariva has left a long lasting legacy. He was a true son of Fiji soccer and was an inspirational to many in Fiji and abroad. “On behalf Fiji FA board members and football family I wish to extend our deepest condolences to his family,” he said.
