Vucu will surprise family
The RFMF Best All Round Recruit didn’t inform them that he had joined the military
Petero Vucu’s achievement will come as a surprise for his family back in Macuata, Vanua Levu. This was after he scooped the 2016 Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Best All Round Recruit award at the passing-out parade at Forces Training Group in Nasinu yesterday. No one from Mr Vucu’s family was present at his passing-out parade as they had no idea that he had joined the RFMF recruitment training.
“I joined the Fiji Police Force in 2013 straight after I left high school and this year I decided to join the RFMF but I did not reveal the news to my family who are all back in Vanua Levu. “My passion had always been to be part of the disciplined force and I acknowledge my family for their encouragement and prayers,” Mr Vucu said. The 22-year-old from Nasau, Moce in Lau believes that anything is possible through resilience and having faith in the Lord Almighty. “My parents are very hardworking and despite the everyday challenge of living in the village, they managed to send me to school with my other eight siblings.
“I will be relaying the news to them and I belive that all glory and honour is to be returned back to the Lord Almighty in heaven.”
