His pas­sion for writ­ing stems from ac­tions be­ing taken af­ter his let­ters ap­pears.

Narayan Reddy is our Let­ter of the Week Win­ner.

The Lau­toka res­i­dent is one of three reg­u­lar con­trib­u­tors to the Let­ters to the Edi­tor who formed a com­pany that look af­ter the clean­li­ness of the sugar city’s mar­ket.

His busi­ness part­ners are Allen Lock­ing­ton and Wise Muavono.

“I saw that when I started writ­ing about is­sues in the papers, it usu­ally was done a week or so later and this gave me a let­ter of sat­is­fac­tion and the en­cour­age­ment to con­tinue writ­ing,” Mr Reddy said.

Mr Reddy, along with his busi­ness part­ners Mr Lock­ing­ton and Mr Muavono started their com­pany and won the con­tract to clean the Lau­toka Mar­ket.

The trio de­cided to hire peo­ple on the street, in­clud­ing those that sleep at the bus stand ev­ery night and gave them a chance to earn money.

Mr Reddy said his pas­sion for writ­ing is as strong as ever and has praised the Fiji Sun for the stan­dard it has set.

He re­ceived a Parker pen as his prize.
