REGULAR WRITERS HELP PROVIDE LAUTOKA JOBS
His passion for writing stems from actions being taken after his letters appears.
Narayan Reddy is our Letter of the Week Winner.
The Lautoka resident is one of three regular contributors to the Letters to the Editor who formed a company that look after the cleanliness of the sugar city’s market.
His business partners are Allen Lockington and Wise Muavono.
“I saw that when I started writing about issues in the papers, it usually was done a week or so later and this gave me a letter of satisfaction and the encouragement to continue writing,” Mr Reddy said.
Mr Reddy, along with his business partners Mr Lockington and Mr Muavono started their company and won the contract to clean the Lautoka Market.
The trio decided to hire people on the street, including those that sleep at the bus stand every night and gave them a chance to earn money.
Mr Reddy said his passion for writing is as strong as ever and has praised the Fiji Sun for the standard it has set.
He received a Parker pen as his prize.
