The Government is in the process of reviewing the salary packages of all civil servants. Attorney-General Aiyaz SayedKhaiyum made the comment during the announcement of Fiji Airways Group’s record profit for 2015. Mr Khaiyum said this would include every worker in the civil service. He said Government met with one of the consultants from the World Bank on Monday on this issue. “We asked them to review the remuneration packages or salaries for everybody in the civil service.” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said this would include everyone, “beginning from the driver right up to high management level. “We believe that people need to be rewarded by giving them the right salary package.” He said this would apply to anyone whether they were a junior or senior staff.

“We will only be able to do this if we are able to pick up the level of efficiency, proficiency and merit based appointments within the civil service.”

We believe that people need to be rewarded by giving them the right salary package
