The Red Rock team of Qauia has challenged all other teams stating their only aim is to win the Nawaka 7s title this weekend. Team coach Lote Rasiga says they will be traveling down tomorrow. He said even though they don’t have big names in his squad, he has faith in his players. “So far, so good. The boys have been preparing well and we are looking forward to the games. “The team has been training at Jonny Singh Park so when we go down we are not only going to participate; we are going there to win,” he said.

“Most of these players are new so this will be their first major local game. I don’t have big names in my squad but I always develop new players mainly from Qauia. Rasiga said despite not having the number of experienced players as the other teams do, he believes that to become a good team, good preparation is needed. “We have been doing our best in preparation for the tournament. We always give our 100 per cent.

“It will take time to develop these players to reach a stage, but I believe they will perform and we will see them in the Nawaka 7s in Nadi this weekend.” The Wardens Gold 7s team is the current title holder of the Nawaka 7s title. Edited by Jonathan Bryce
