New Puisne judge Sharma sworn-in

The Pres­i­dent, Ma­jor- Gen­eral ( Ret’d) Jioji Konousi Kon­rote, on Fri­day wel­comed an­other mem­ber to the Fi­jian Ju­di­ciary. Puisne judge to the High Court Su­nil Sharma was sworn-in at State House by Pres­i­dent Kon­rote in the pres­ence of se­nior mem­bers of the ju­di­ciary, in­clud­ing Chief Jus­tice An­thony Gates, Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Prose­cu­tions Christo­pher Pryde and chief reg­is­trar Yo­han Liyan­age. Judge Sharma holds a Bach­e­lor of Laws De­gree (LLB) from the Uni­ver­sity of South Pa­cific in 1999 and joined the High Court of Fiji in 2000. He worked at the Le­gal Aid Com­mis­sion for five years and later en­tered pri­vate prac­tice. Judge Sharma is ac­cred­ited by the In­ter­na­tional Ad­vo­cacy Train­ing Coun­cil (IATC) to be a Trial Ad­vo­cacy Teacher for lawyers in Fiji.
