The Frank Farina-coached side evenly matched their opponents but fatigue took its toll in the second spell.

Today is our third day in Curitiba, Brazil and we played our first match against the Atletico FC Caps Sub side. The Vodafone Fijian U23 players did all what they could in the first half with goalkeeper Simione-Tamanisau making some daring saves. The Frank Farina- coached side evenly matched their opponents but fatigue took its toll in the second spell. The Brazilians showed their class in the second half after Fijians started losing concentration and scored four goals. Farina was upbeat in defeat. ‘We are here to learn and the boys have tasted the Brazilian style of football today. “We defended very well in terms of our structure and our play bur we cracked in the second half due to fatigue. “We can’t get this kind of competition in Fiji or Oceania and this is the best place to learn. Farina expects tougher games in the remaining three games. Our next match in on Tuesday. Until tomorrow, moce Viti.
