Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) would like to thank the public for their patience for the unexpected travel disruption along Kings Road, in particular the Wainivula Road in Nasinu last Sunday. FRA maintenance works manager Aram Goes said the road had to be closed on a short notice to allow the Mineral Resources Department to facilitate the seismic testing of the Manohan Building to confirm if the structure was still able to withstand earthquake movement. “We had to close the road from 12pm to 6pm and we apologise for the travel disruption caused, but they were unavoidable due to the nature of the work.” He said the FRA’s contractor Fulton Hogan Hiways had put up detour signs to help drivers navigate the closures. “During the disruption, we had ensured that there was access to emergency services at all times,” he said.
