Good­man Fielder Do­nate Food Sup­plies for Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Ef­forts

Man­u­fac­tur­ing gi­ant, Good­man Fielder In­ter­na­tional Fiji Limited boosted the Prime Min­is­ter’s Re­lief Fund by do­nat­ing con­tain­ers of ba­sic food sup­plies to the Na­tional Dis­as­ter Man­age­ment Com­mit­tee. Good­man Fielder Gen­eral Man­ager Chris Zaay­man said:“Good­man Fielder in part­ner­ship with their in­ter­na­tional cor­po­rate of­fice have come to­gether to do­nate sup­plies worth of $324,000.’’ Mr Zaay­man added apart from this do­na­tion, Good­man Fielder sup­plied chicken and other food prod­ucts af­ter the Cy­clone in Fe­bru­ary. “The do­na­tions were dis­trib­uted to Koro Is­land, Gau Is­land, Vanua Balavu,Ya­cata Is­land and Batiki Is­land,’’ he said. “We also vis­ited many vil­lages and homes in the Ra cor­ri­dors dis­tribut­ing ba­sic food items and cooked up a meal at Na­muaimada vil­lage.’’ Re­ceiv­ing the do­na­tion was Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary for Na­tional Dis­as­ter Man­age­ment Meleti Bain­i­marama. He said the Good­man Fielder do­na­tion yes­ter­day came in time, as the com­mis­sion­ers are run­ning some of the food sup­plies. Mr Bain­i­marama added the Fiji DISMAC Of­fice is go­ing to dis­trib­ute the con­tain­ers of rice yes­ter­day whereas the rest of the sup­plies will be dis­trib­uted through­out the week.
