Our women gracious in defeat
The Fiji Blues women’s team suffered a disappointing 3- 0 loss to New Caledonia in the 2016 Handy Finance Oceania Volleyball Championship at the Vodafone Arena, Suva last night. The Fijians were made to play catchup as New Caledonia spiked their way through the first set winning 12-25. The visitors continued the onslaught to dominate the remaining two sets 2025 and 18-25 respectively. Fiji Blues women’s team manager Semaima Lagilagi said they were happy at how the players performed despite the loss. “I’m quite happy with the way they played tonight because most of these players are new and this is their first outing,” she said. Lagilagi pointed out the team had made a couple of errors and they would like to work on it before their next game. “We will be going back and will discuss about this. And work on some of the areas we need to improve on for our next game. We are just taking one game at a time and we’ll see where things go from there,” she said.
