Queen Vic­to­ria School Old Boys (QVSOB) de­feated Na­tional Fire Author­ity (NFA) 26-22 in round five of the RC Manub­hai-spon­sored Suva Rugby Union Es­cott Shield com­pe­ti­tion at the ANZ Sta­dium last Satur­day. The fea­ture match of the round lived up to ex­pec­ta­tions as QVSOB snatched a re­mark­able fight­back to score an up­set win over the favourites. The win stretched the Vic­to­ri­ans un­beaten record this sea­son to five games. In the other matches, Army de­feated Marist 15-10, de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Navy too strong for Har­lequins 41-0,Rai­waqa beat USP 12-6 while War­dens thrashed De­lainavesi 52-3 in the CBS Power So­lu­tions Koro­turaga Grade en­counter. Suva Rugby Union in­terim chair­man Lai Kaivei praised the per­for­mance of the teams.

“We have seen a lot of tal­ented play­ers play­ing for their re­spec­tive team,”he said.
