Beau­ti­cians en­hance knowl­edge on herbal treat­ment

Beau­ti­cians from around the coun­try re­cently un­der­went a train­ing up­grad­ing their knowl­edge on how to en­hance and ex­press beauty us­ing an Ayurvedic (herbal) ap­proach. The train­ing was or­gan­ised by the Fiji Na­tional Univer­sity’s Na­tional Train­ing and Pro­duc­tiv­ity Cen­tre in Nadi on “Herbal Ayurveda Treat­ment for Body, Skin and Hair”.

As­sis­tance Min­is­ter for Health, Veena Bhatnagar, de­scribed the hair, beauty and spa as a fast grow­ing in­dus­try in the present day and age.

“Ev­ery­one from all walks of life par­tic­u­larly women have a pas­sion and in­ter­est to­ward this very in­dus­try,” she said. “Some are out to learn the trade whilst others take ad­van­tage of these ser­vices which are pro­vided by com­mer­cial en­ti­ties.” Ms Bhatnagar noted those in­volved in our hair salon and spa in­dus­try are out to use cur­rent tech­nolo­gies.

And search best prac­tice mod­els that will em­power and en­hance the in­dus­try. In­cluded in the sem­i­nar was a demon­stra­tion of Herbal Ayurveda Reme­dies for Body Treat­ment, Herbal Ayurveda Reme­dies for Skin, Fa­cial treat­ment, Herbal Ayurveda Reme­dies for Hair.
