Lalita Devi, 49, of Navo, Nadi, was very proud to see his son Kunal Kaushal Singh graduate with a National Certificate II in Cookery at the Fiji Technical College’s inaugural graduation in Nadi on Friday. “Like any mother I am proud of my son graduating,” she said. “He is a hard working person and before graduating he had a job at Lale’s Fried Chicken in Nadi.” She said although her son faced a few hurdles on the way, it did not deter him from achieving his dream.

“I believe he will go a long way because he always listens to his parents,” she said. Meanwhile Kunal, 18, said, “I am so happy and glad to have graduated today because finally my hard work of one year has paid off.

“I want to thank Fiji Technical College for giving me a chance to study and continue to pursue my dream of becoming a chef. It was a great choice for me to join the technical college because the practical taught in school was really helpful while out there in the workplace.” He encouraged his friends who wanted to pursue their career dreams, but had dropped out of school to apply for a course at the Fiji Technical College.
