Moroca charged with caus­ing griev­ous bod­ily harm and theft

Aman, who al­legedly at­tacked a woman in her Ki­noya shop, has been fur­ther re­manded in cus­tody.

Ji­uta Moroca, 31, ap­peared yes­ter­day at Nas­inu Mag­is­trates Court. He has been charged with one count of act with in­tent to cause griev­ous harm and one count of theft.

It is al­leged that on the May 9, Moroca al­legedly punched Lin Li Sheng con­tin­u­ously us­ing his fist un­til she was com­pletely un­con­scious and al­legedly ran away with $2000 in cash. He told Mag­is­trate Su­fia Hamza that he would be seek­ing the as­sis­tance of Le­gal Aid. No plea has been taken. The mat­ter has been trans­ferred to the High Court in Suva where it will be called on May 27.
