Ti­nai dou­ble sinks Vatuk­oula

The Namosi rugby team beat Vatuk­oula 24-3 dur­ing the 2016 Skip­per Cup clash at Theodore Park, Vatuk­oula yes­ter­day.

What hap­pened: Both teams started well with the first try scored at the 17th minute through Pana­pasa Namoko to give Namosi the lead. Dan­ger­ous play from Vatuk­oula saw two yel­low cards dished to Manoa Na­toro­gia in the 34th minute and Sai­moni Nadore in the 36th minute.

Half Time: Namosi 5-0 Vatuk­oula

Namosi scored early in the sec­ond half through Ilai Ti­nai who also con­verted as they led 12-0. A penalty to Vatuk­oula in the 46th minute was con­verted by Leone Rat­ulevu as they trailed 12-3. An­other try from Ti­nai saw Namosi jump to a 17-3 lead. It was in the 76th minute Ali­poso Rauto scored Namosi’s fourth try with Ti­nai’s con­ver­sion seal­ing a 24-3 win.


Namosi coach Max Hughes said he was happy with their per­for­mance. “We have achieved our goal which was to win and I will keep work­ing hard with the boys to win our up­com­ing games.”
