Fake notes found at Nadi night club

Po­lice in Nadi are cur­rently in­ves­ti­gat­ing a case of fake notes dis­cov­ered at a prom­i­nent night club in Nadi early Satur­day morn­ing. Po­lice spokesper­son In­spec­tor Jo­saia We­icavu said: “A 22-year -old cashier of a night club in Nadi dis­cov­ered 17 $100 notes be­lieved to be coun­ter­feits whilst count­ing cash dur­ing stock-tak­ing.

“Ten (10) $100 notes bear­ing se­rial # FFA2759142 with seven (7) $100 notes bear­ing Se­rial # FFA2759138,” he said. In­spec­tor We­icavu said busi­ness own­ers op­er­at­ing in the night were ad­vised to check all the notes cashed at their counter. “Per­pe­tra­tors may trade fake notes at night clubs, ser­vice sta­tions, BBQ stalls and some other re­tail busi­ness op­er­at­ing in the night,” In­spec­tor We­icavu said. “Please be­ware of peo­ple trad­ing $100 notes in the night as ATM ma­chines doesn’t pro­vide $100 note ser­vices to cus­tomers.”
