Wanted expat arrested in Vanuatu
David Pathinson, the British national wanted by Vanuatu Police for allegations of sexual related offences with young boys was arrested on Thursday, Police media has confirmed. Daily Post is informed that he was arrested and detained, but no further details including whether or not he was released on bail was given. Sometimes in August last year, Police in the Capital noted Pathinson escaped on his yatch, the Serenity. According to a Daily Post report, Pathinson was first arrested by Police in Port Vila in 2014 and charged with sexual and indecency with a young person. Vanuatu Daily Post her newborn son were medically evacuated from Nauru in a critical condition.
Ian Rintoul, from the Refugee Action Collective, said 22-year-old Naima Ahmed was 32 weeks pregnant when she underwent a caesarean section operation on Thursday. The ABC understands Ms Ahmed has been taken off life support and her condition is slowly improving. Mr Dutton said on Saturday there were “significant numbers of medical staff ” on Nauru who provided care to asylum seekers in detention. He said Australia’s policy was firm on not allowing people in offshore detention into Australia, except in an emergency. ABC
