New Delhi: A red carpet darling, Julia Roberts had one last bastion left to conquer – the one at Cannes film festival. The Hollywood star made her debut at the festival with the cast of Jodie Foster’s Money Monster on Thursday. Everything that Roberts did was on-dot – black Armani Prive gown, Chopard diamond necklace glittering round her neck and all those perfect pictures with co-star George Clooney and his wife, lawyer Amal Clooney. And then she lifted the gown and showed the world – no heels. The 48-year-old actress is known for going barefoot at awards ceremonies and even at her wedding to country singer Lyle Lovett. French magazine L’Express Friday hailed her move as a “veritable act of militant feminism” and the French edition of Gala celebrity magazine said she had “dared the unthinkable.”

US actress Julia Roberts arrives for the screening of the film Money Monster at the 69th Cannes Film Festival in Cannes without her heels.
