Min­istry wel­comes new PS

Fiji’s Min­istry of For­eign Af­fairs yes­ter­day of­fi­cially wel­comed their new Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary and for­mer en­voy Ravin­dra (Robin) Nair.

Mr Nair of­fi­cially be­gan yes­ter­day as the new Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary in a role that the For­eign Af­fairs Min­is­ter Ratu Inoke Kubuabola says will be im­por­tant in ad­vanc­ing Fiji’s for­eign in­ter­ests. In his wel­com­ing re­marks, Ratu Inoke called on the staff at the min­istry to work closely with their new Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary. He said Mr Nair brought with him a wealth of ex­pe­ri­ence that would ben­e­fit the min­istry and the coun­try. Mr Nair is no stranger to the min­istry hav­ing served there for a num­ber of years at var­i­ous lev­els, with his most re­cent post­ing as the Am­bas­sador to the United Arab Emi­rates. In his re­marks, Mr Nair said he would work closely with the staff, the Min­is­ter and the Gov­ern­ment to en­sure that Fiji’s for­eign in­ter­ests were achieved.
