Amitabh Bachchan reads fa­ther’s work daily for strength

Me­gas­tar Amitabh Bachchan says he likes to read a page from his late fa­ther and poet Hari­van­shrai Bachchan’s work in the morn­ing ev­ery day as it strength­ens him to tackle ob­sta­cles in life. Amitabh read “Jan Gita”, a po­etic ren­di­tion of the Bha­gavad Gita in Awadhi lan­guage of north­ern In­dia, on Satur­day. “On read­ing the ‘Jan Gita’ this morn­ing a rev­e­la­tion… Will need a proper fo­rum to de­scribe it. But rev­e­la­tion all the same,” Amitabh posted on his blog. “Read a page each morn­ing my fa­ther left me with. I do and strengthen my­self. This strength is divine and of di­vin­ity. They are never wrong,” the “Piku” ac­tor added. Hari­van­shrai, who died in 2003, is cred­ited with works like “Mad­hushala” and “Agneepath”. The

“Paa” ac­tor is of­ten seen recit­ing Hari­van­shrai’s po­ems and has called him a “unique ge­nius” on sev­eral oc­ca­sions.
