Su­per Com­pe­ti­tions Launched

Two com­pe­ti­tions were launched yes­ter­day as the na­tion an­tic­i­pates the first ever Su­per Rugby match to be played here on July 1. Su­per Rugby steer­ing com­mit­tee chair­per­son Li­tiana Loabuka an­nounced the launch of the AON Ball Car­rier com­pe­ti­tion as well as the Chiefs Face­book photo con­test. Loabuka an­nounced for the ball car­ri­ers com­pe­ti­tion, 15 lucky kids would be cho­sen to un­dergo a half-day work­shop where eight will be­come ball car­ri­ers with seven re­serves. “All ap­pli­cants must be be­tween the ages of 12 and 16 years and par­tic­i­pants need to tell us in any way or form why they should be se­lected to be one of the eight ball car­ri­ers,” she said. The AON Ball Car­rier com­pe­ti­tion is re­stricted only to par­tic­i­pants from the Suva area and is open to both boys and girls of the se­lected ages.

Ball car­rier ap­pli­ca­tions can be de­liv­ered to the Fiji Sports Coun­cil (with Su­per Rugby Ball Car­rier Com­pe­ti­tion on the en­ve­lope) or emailed to: su­per­rug­by­fiji@gmail.com or loaded on the Fiji Sports Coun­cil Face­book page by end of busi­ness on the clos­ing date– Fri­day, June 10, 2016. Loabuka also launched a na­tion­wide Face­book com­pe­ti­tion for Fiji fans to send in a sup­port pic­ture in any type of Gal­lagher Chiefs out­fit or mer­chan­dise. “Fans are to send in an im­age of them­selves ei­ther with fans, friends, and fam­ily in their Chiefs out­fit or hold­ing a chiefs flag or a home-made Chiefs plac­ard. “Pho­tos to be posted on the Fiji Sports Coun­cil Face­book page and with this the top 5 pho­tos with the most num­ber of likes for the week will re­ceive of­fi­cial chiefs’ mer­chan­dise,” she said.
