Nadi Eels ride on bus spon­sor­ship

Apromi­nent bus com­pany in the West is now a ma­jor spon­sor of the Nadi Eels rugby league club. The man­age­ment of Clas­sic Buses Limited handed over a $2500 cheque to the club and will also pro­vide bus trans­fer to the team through­out this year’s Voda­fone Cup com­pe­ti­tion. Clas­sic Buses Limited’s Ad­nan Mo­hammed said they are sup­port­ing Nadi Eels for the sec­ond year in a row. “The club has been look­ing af­ter their play­ers well through their pro­grammes on and off the field,” Mo­hammed said. As­sis­tant Eels coach Etika Tukana thanked the com­pany for re­new­ing their on­go­ing part­ner­ship, which was es­tab­lished last year. “We are in­debted to those that are be­hind the team in try­ing to as­sist us to achieve our ob­jec­tive for the sea­son.” The Eels re­main un­de­feated in the premier grade of the Nadi Zone. They beat de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Sa­beto Roost­ers 12-6 and last week thumped Na­vat­ulevu Herons 40-0 in a one-sided affair at Mount St Mary ground in Mart­in­tar, Nadi The Eels are bank­ing on ex­pe­ri­enced play­ers like Akuila Vu­toni (prop), Manaini Bale (dummy half), Iona Vaka­musu (first five eight), Manasa Kalou (sec­ond row) and Maika Serulevu (cen­tre) who was part of the Fiji Res­i­dent side last year.
