Nadi Eels ride on bus sponsorship
Aprominent bus company in the West is now a major sponsor of the Nadi Eels rugby league club. The management of Classic Buses Limited handed over a $2500 cheque to the club and will also provide bus transfer to the team throughout this year’s Vodafone Cup competition. Classic Buses Limited’s Adnan Mohammed said they are supporting Nadi Eels for the second year in a row. “The club has been looking after their players well through their programmes on and off the field,” Mohammed said. Assistant Eels coach Etika Tukana thanked the company for renewing their ongoing partnership, which was established last year. “We are indebted to those that are behind the team in trying to assist us to achieve our objective for the season.” The Eels remain undefeated in the premier grade of the Nadi Zone. They beat defending champions Sabeto Roosters 12-6 and last week thumped Navatulevu Herons 40-0 in a one-sided affair at Mount St Mary ground in Martintar, Nadi The Eels are banking on experienced players like Akuila Vutoni (prop), Manaini Bale (dummy half), Iona Vakamusu (first five eight), Manasa Kalou (second row) and Maika Serulevu (centre) who was part of the Fiji Resident side last year.
