The Vodafone Fijian 7s team suffered a setback as forward Semi Kunatani has been ruled out of this weekend’s London 7s. This was confirmed yesterday by team manager Ropate Kauvesi. “Kunatani is still injured and is not up for selection,” he said. Kunatani’s absence means an opportunity for Pio Tuwai, Masivesi Dakuwaqa or Vili Mata to stamp their mark at Twickenham.
Vodafone Fijian 7s forward Apisai Domolailai copped a three match suspension after he copped a red card during the Paris Sevens. He was sent off for a spear tackle on Fijianborn France winger Virimi Vakatawa during the Cup quarterfinal, which Fiji won 22-5. Kauvesi said Domolailai did not play in the final against Samoa and would miss the first two matches of the London 7s, if he is selected in the 12-member squad.
