From all accounts the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Band put on brilliant performances at the Queen’s 90th Birthday celebrations at Windsor, London. Her body language suggested that she loved them. The smile on her face was more than enough to confirm her joy. The Fijians became an instant hit with the crowds that went to watch the celebrations. Lieutenant-Colonel Serevi Vananalagi, the band leader and the rest of the band deserve a big vinaka vakalevu. To be invited to be part of the celebrations was a huge privilege. The Fijians were part of starstudded attractions that included famous musicians and singers. Their master-class performance was breathtaking in its own unique character and beat. They have done us proud.
