Roy: Team work is a must
The country’s only professional football player Roy Krishna believes they have to work as a team as they prepare for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in August. The Siberia native from Labasa said yesterday that he was ready to represent the country at the Olympic Games.
“There is going to be a lot of expectations from our fans so therefore teamwork is very important to me,” he said.
“It is going to be hard playing against teams that have had exposure in the world of football, but nothing is impossible.” Krishna said the team need to stick to their game plan and trust in the game tactics that is set-up by national football head coach Frank Farina. “We will have a good run against some of the best teams out there and we will be out to prove that we mean business.” Krishna said he would continue to focus on engagements with his Wellington Phoenix Club in New Zealand before joining the national team for the Rio Olympics.
“I have learnt a lot during my engagement with Phoenix and there is still more to be learned but the bottom line is that I am satisfied with where I am today,” Krishna said.
