Awin over Tailevu/ Naitasiri on Sunday is crucial for Navua if they are to improve their standing on the Vodafone Senior League (Southern Zone) points table. Navua football coach Mohammed Shafil said they are sitting on five points and a win over Tailevu/ Naitasiri is going to push them to the top. “We know that Tailevu/Naitasiri have good players but we need to look past that and play to our best this weekend,” Shafil said. “We will not take any team lightly at this stage because we know how crucial this win is for us to move up on the table.” Navua drew two-all in their last game against Nasinu and Shafil says, although they came out with a draw, they were unhappy with the result. “The reason is because we know we could have won that game, we had a lot of chances at goal and had more ball possession. “But our attempts at goal were not good and that let us down in the end. We had the lead but we couldn’t keep it. “I think our shooting is what we need to work on before we take on Tailevu/ Naitasiri. Regardless, the players and the team are doing well and our performance against Nasinu was our best so far so we hope to improve on that this weekend.”
