One of four al­leged rob­bers front court

A man charged with ag­gra­vated rob­bery ap­peared at the Suva Mag­is­trate Court yes­ter­day. Ravuama Kedraika ap­peared be­fore Mag­is­trate Shageeth So­maratne who has re­manded him and has trans­ferred the mat­ter to the High Court.

It is al­leged that on Fe­bru­ary 6, 2016 Kedraika and three oth­ers robbed Bi­jen Pratap and stole cash and other ex­pen­sive items which were the prop­er­ties of Bhan Pratap Su­per­mar­ket.

The to­tal value of the stolen items was $17,182.

Po­lice prose­cu­tor Act­ing Cor­po­ral Jo­sua Shaw ob­jected to the bail and told the court that Kedraika had a his­tory of breach­ing bail, this was an in­dictable of­fence, that three other ac­com­plices have yet to be ar­rested, and Kedraika had other mat­ters in court. Mr So­maratne took into ac­count the prosecutions ob­jec­tion and de­nied Kedraika bail. Court has been ad­journed to June 3. Jes­sica Gounder
