Security information sharing needed: Natuva
Timoci Natuva says an international security data base needs to be set up and can be accessed by Pacific island nations. The Minister for Defence, National Security and Immigration made the recommendation at Grozny, Chechen Republic. He was attending the VII International Meeting of High-Level Officials Responsible for Security Matters. Mr Natuva reiterated how imperative the access to an international information system would be for Fiji and the Pacific region towards various and relevant aspects of security. He recommended that should a system be established and implemented that a database be seriously considered in order to enable quick access by members especially to terrorist groups and personnel catalogues. He also recommended that the resolutions of the meeting be submitted to the United Nations for formal concurrence and implementation.
