Motorists should expect more Police and Land Transport Authority presence on public roads over the long weekend.

Director of Traffic Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mahesh Mishra said the Police would ensure drivers who take the law into their own hands would be taken to task.

“We will have a joint operation with LTA over the long weekend to ensure our roads are safe to travel for all road users,” SSP Mishra said. “The point we would like to speak and stress on to the public, especially our motorists who drink and drive, speed and perform dangerous driving, you must understand that you and other road users’ lives are precious to us.” He said drivers caught driving in a dangerous manner; and drunk drivers will be taken into custody. “We want the members of the public to enjoy the long weekend and drive safely on our public roads to ensure the safety of all road users around the country,” SSP Mishra said.
