Baby reminds family of Kitione Tukana
Her father will always be in her heart. These were the words of Mele Falahola, the partner of the late Kitione Tukana. She gave birth to their daughter Kaytee Susan Falahola Tukana at 8am on June 7. She said it was a very touching and emotional experience for her to go through the delivery of her baby girl without her partner by her side. The 21-year-old Mr Tukana died following a fatal accident on April 24. “I wish only if her dad was with us so we could have shared our happiness together. I feel happy seeing my bundle of joy in my arms but sad at the same time because my family picture is incomplete,” Ms Falahola said. “My experience throughout this journey is really wonderful and that feeling when I became a mother; held her in my arms for the first time, I was filled with joy.” She said if Mr Tuakana was here, he would have been so proud and happy seeing their baby, Kaytee. “I am sure he would have been the perfect daddy to his baby girl,” Ms Falahola said. “I have thought to tell her about her father when she’s mature enough to understand the story of my life. But for now, I will teach her ‘Baby; daddy is here’ while holding her hand and make her touch her heart.” She said Kaytee looked just like her father as it reminded Ms Falahola of Mr Tukana.
“When I see Kaytee smile, I feel like she’s telling me to be strong because I am here for you mom,” she said. “She is the reason why I keep going in life and it will continue to do so while I go back to university to complete my education. “Kaytee has changed my life because now I have my little Kiti with me as my daughter and be a successful mother to her.” Salote Tukana, mother of late Kitione Tukana said she could not stop herself from crying seeing her granddaughter. “I’m so proud that God has blessed us with my beautiful baby princess,” she said.
