Cap­tain Cook Cruises to boost tourism in North

MV Reef En­deav­our of Cap­tain Cook Cruises will be com­ing to Labasa this Satur­day. Cap­tain Cook Cruises gen­eral man­ager Tony Acland said it is part of their four cul­ture cruise se­ries which be­gan in 2012. “This cruise sails from Port De­na­rau ma­rina for a seven night cruise to show case the di­ver­sity of cul­tures in Fiji and Labasa,” he said. “We run this par­tic­u­lar cruise four times per year.” The shore ex­cur­sions for Labasa in­clude a guided bus trip around the sights of Labasa and a walk through the mar­kets guided by one of the chefs on board. “We ex­pect to sail with 70 guests for this cul­tural cruise which calls into Kioa Is­land, Rabi Is­land, Kia Is­land, Labasa, Galoa, Yaqaqa and Nananu-i-ra,” he said Mean­while, the Spe­cial Ad­min­is­tra­tor of Labasa and Savusavu Town Coun­cil Vi­jay Chand said this was good news. “Surely the tourism sec­tor in Macu­ata will greatly ben­e­fit from this cruise visit,” Mr Chand said. “As usual we pre­pare our town cre­at­ing a wel­com­ing spirit for our vis­i­tors and I am sure they will cher­ish fond mem­o­ries of our beau­ti­ful town and sur­round­ings.” Feed­back:
