Vunidawa chief Ratu Timoci Rokobukete has applauded the work carried out by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Engineers in rural and maritime areas.

He said their construction works were of high quality.

Ratu Timoci said that after Cyclone Winston the engineers were the first to visit those affected areas in Naitasiri. The Vunidawa chief said that for his people they wanted the engineers to carry out construction works because the quality of their work was excellent. Other construction companies, he said, work just for the money and the standard of work was sometimes poor. The RFMF Engineers also completed the work well before the allocated time given to them, he said. Meanwhile Ratu Timoci has also called on parliamentarians especially those from the Opposition and RFMF critics to stop criticising the institution. He said the RFMF had played a major role in the new way forward for Fiji adopted by the Government.

It was through the intervention of the RFMF in 2006 that had led to the investigation of fraudulent activities by past governments.
