Ledua: No party, two weeks to go
Northland warhorse Isireli Ledua made a special plea for players not to drink alcohol or kava in the next two weeks. Ledua challenged the players to sacrifice, work, train and play as a team in the last two rounds of the Skipper Cup competition. Surrounded by fans after beating Tavua 31-15 at Gatward Park, Ledua requested the players to be united for the cause. “We need to stay off the booze and kava in the next two weeks,” he said. “It’s the toughest two weeks of the Skipper Cup as we face Namosi and Nadroga.
“There’s more time to party, let’s do it for Northland. We fared well so far and we should continue to punch above our weight against the Cup favourites.” Northland coach Timoci Tinaviti said they should start from where they left off against Tavua in their game against Namosi at Thomson Park, Navua this Saturday.
“We can’t afford a repeat of a stop-start, hot –cold first half against Namosi,” Tinaviti said. “Namosi is one of the strongest teams in the competition having reaching the final last year. Northland need to be up to the challenge and we have one week to prepare.” Edited by Leone Cabenatabua
