O’Neill says Xi will be present in Pacific meet
Chinese President Xi Jinping is said to be the first leader to confirm his attendance at the 2018 Asian Pacific Economic Co-operation (Apec) summit in Port Moresby. He announced his intention during bilateral talks with PNG Prime Minister Peter O’Neill in Beijing the past week. It was an official visit by Mr O’Neill.
During high-level discussions, the president expressed his support for more Chinese tourists to visit Papua New Guinea, and the two leaders discussed regional political issues.
