MARKET VENDORS IN POLICE CUSTODY FOR ALLEGED DRUG POSSESSION
Two Labasa market vendors have been arrested over the weekend for allegedly being in possession of dried leaves believed to be marijuana. Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said on Saturday around 12 mid-day upon information received, a Police search party raided two stalls. “A 39-year-old, market vendor was found carrying 73 sachets wrapped in aluminium foil inside a brown paper believed to be marijuana,” Ms Naisoro said. “On the same day the Police team searched another stall looked after by a 20-year-old student of Urata in Labasa.
“Police found four sachets inside a carton believed to be marijuana. “Both suspects are in Police custody while we are waiting for analysis on dried leaves,” Ms Naisoro said.
