MAR­KET VEN­DORS IN PO­LICE CUS­TODY FOR AL­LEGED DRUG POS­SES­SION

Two Labasa mar­ket ven­dors have been ar­rested over the week­end for al­legedly be­ing in pos­ses­sion of dried leaves be­lieved to be mar­i­juana. Po­lice spokesper­son Ana Naisoro said on Satur­day around 12 mid-day upon in­for­ma­tion re­ceived, a Po­lice search party raided two stalls. “A 39-year-old, mar­ket ven­dor was found car­ry­ing 73 sa­chets wrapped in alu­minium foil in­side a brown pa­per be­lieved to be mar­i­juana,” Ms Naisoro said. “On the same day the Po­lice team searched an­other stall looked af­ter by a 20-year-old stu­dent of Urata in Labasa.

“Po­lice found four sa­chets in­side a car­ton be­lieved to be mar­i­juana. “Both sus­pects are in Po­lice cus­tody while we are wait­ing for anal­y­sis on dried leaves,” Ms Naisoro said.
