‘The Pre­mier League is be­hind sched­ule and we would like to have games played’

The Voda­fone Pre­mier League is ex­pected to re­sume this week fol­low­ing the ar­rival of Team Fiji foot­ball side yes­ter­day af­ter com­pet­ing in the Olympic Games in Brazil.

Fiji Foot­ball vice-pres­i­dent and na­tional league board chair­man Yo­gesh­war Singh con­firmed three games will be played this week­end. “The U23 play­ers have ar­rived so we will re­sume the com­pe­ti­tion,” Singh said. “Suva, Nadroga, Nadi, Ba and Lautoka are ex­pected to play this week but fix­tures will be fi­nal­ized on Mon­day. “The games to be played will also de­pend on the avail­abil­ity of the ground and the weather. “The Pre­mier League is be­hind sched­ule and we would like to have games played this week. “INKK Mo­bile Bat­tle of the Gi­ants starts next week and we would like to have one round played.”

Singh said the league will be in­ter­est­ing with the in­clu­sion of the U23 play­ers.
