Com­mit­tee chair­man Hird­esh Prasad said money col­lected which to­taled $152,199 would go to or­gan­i­sa­tions that needed it the most

Miss Fiji Na­tional Univer­sity Re­jieli Vueti yesterday won the Voda­fone Fiji Hibis­cus Miss Char­ity crown.

FNU col­lected $41,216.68 out of the to­tal of $152,199.03 raised by the Voda­fone Hibis­cus com­mit­tee. Emo­tional Ms Vueti said she was thank­ful for her sup­port­ers and her univer­sity for giv­ing her this plat­form. “I would like to thank the FNU Hibis­cus com­mit­tee, the staff and stu­dents of FNU for their gen­er­ous sup­port to­wards me and my ad­vo­cacy,” Ms Vueti said. Hibis­cus Com­mit­tee chair­man, Hird­esh Prasad said the money that was col­lected would be given into char­i­ties like Fiji So­ci­ety for the Blind, House of Chameleon, and St Christopher’s Home, etc. “The money col­lected is given to the or­gan­i­sa­tions that need it the most,” Mr Prasad said.

Chief Guest of the event, Voda­fone’s chief mar­ket­ing man­ager Ra­j­nesh Prasad said Voda­fone was glad to be a part of the car­ni­val and looked for­ward to the fu­ture of the car­ni­val.

“I wish best of luck to all the con­tes­tants, whether they win or lose this com­pe­ti­tion, but they will al­ways be a win­ner for their sup­port­ers,” Mr Prasad said.
