AIR­CRAFT LAND­ING IN­CI­DENT – NADI AIR­PORT

A Cessna C150 aero­plane be­long­ing to Ad­vance Avi­a­tion (Fiji) Lim­ited Pi­lot Train­ing School suf­fered a nose wheel col­lapse while at­tempt­ing to land at Nadi air­port yes­ter­day morn­ing. The sole oc­cu­pant of the air­craft, the pi­lot, was un­hurt. A re­port of the in­ci­dent was re­ceived by the De­part­ment of Civil Avi­a­tion at 8:34am yes­ter­day. A crash alarm was ac­ti­vated by the Con­trol Tower and the AFL Res­cue Fire Ser­vices im­me­di­ately re­sponded to the alarm. The pi­lot was taken to Na­maka Health Cen­tre for ob­ser­va­tion and was cleared by the doc­tor on duty. No do­mes­tic nor in­ter­na­tional sched­ules have been af­fected.

An in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the cause of the in­ci­dent has com­menced.
