Noa , Pe­celi score for Cler­mont

Paris: Cler­mont made a state­ment of in­tent af­ter beat­ing Mont­pel­lier 26-22 in their Top14 clash on Sun­day with tries scored by Fi­jians Noa Naikat­aci and Pe­celi Yato. It was a scrappy game through­out but Cler­mont used their chances bet­ter, pounc­ing on count­less mis­takes by Mont­pel­lier for an im­pres­sive away vic­tory over Jake White’s men win.

The visi­tors held the lead through­out the game thanks to a fault­less kick­ing per­for­mance by Camille Lopez. His boot en­sured the vic­tory even though Cler­mont were outscored three tries to two.

All Mont­pel­lier’s tries were scored by South Africans as Paul Willemse, Pierre Spies and Bis­marck du Plessis all crossed t h e white­wash. But they were guilty of too many er­rors with sloppy han­dling er­rors cost­ing the home side dearly in
